After Hours events are no stranger to the Walt Disney World® Resort lineup, with post-hours-of-operation events having been held in the parks for a few years now.
Disney has put a new twist on the idea, and it has become the hot topic of guests all across social media in the recent weeks. So, what exactly is it?
Disney Villains After Hours is a party-like celebration that takes place after Magic Kingdom® Park has closed for the night. Attendance is kept lower during the event, meaning it is easier to ride tons of attractions and get those coveted pictures with empty backgrounds.
Added to the bonus of an emptier park (and it is a LOT emptier), are special food, drinks, and merchandise that can only be obtained during the event. There is also a new show, featuring Disney’s most iconic villains, that lasts over 20 minutes on the Cinderella Castlestage.
When that is not happening, Maleficent dragon float from the Festival of Fantasy parade can be seen prowling about the streets of the park with her minions, all in between a DJ blasting music from the castle sage.
There is a ton to do and see, so how much does it cost?
- $109 for Annual Passholders or Disney Vacation Club Members
- $139 per guest in advance
- $144 per guest on the day of the event
So, that means that for a family of four, the event would cost $559 without discounts, if booked in advance. One of the biggest benefits is that while the event starts at 10 p.m., participating guests can enter the park starting at 7:00 p.m. It lasts until 1:00 a.m., so our recommendation is, if you haven’t bought tickets yet, to attend the event on one of your off-days or during a park you do intend to spend an entire day at.
Okay, so that is all fine and dandy, but when is the party? Does it run all summer (it does!)?
