Everything we know about the new Cirque du Soleil show

By December 11, 2019 No Comments

Walt Disney World® Resort’s previous Cirque du Soleil show, “La Nouba,” held its final show on Dec. 31, 2017 in order to make way for a new show in 2020. The one-of-a-kind acrobatics circus show, located in Disney Springs, had been a fixture on Disney property for 19 years. As iconic as the previous show had become, new technologies and innovations in the theater industry have led to the natural development of an all-new show.

The new show, entitled “Drawn to Life,” is set to preview on March 20, 2020, with its official opening scheduled for April 17, 2020. Cirque du Soleil currently lists tickets online as starting at $69 for the preview, and $79 for the standard showings, though prices do vary based on date.

Both Disney and Cirque du Soleil have touted the show as a collaboration between the two, featuring original characters and undoubtedly recognizable elements from Disney. The show uses its storyline of a young girl, Julie, finding the unfinished art piece of her late father to celebrate Disney animation and the memories it helps us make throughout life. Those memories are brought to the forefront of the show, bringing to life specific instances from Disney films as a magic pencil guides Julie.

“Drawn to Life” is Cirque du Soleil’s 50th original production.
