2023 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts Review

Updated: May 21

Taking place from Jan. 13-Feb. 20, 2023, the EPCOT® International Festival of the Arts takes the festival formula in stride as it brings exciting new dishes and favorite experiences to Walt Disney World® Resort.

Life-size art installations bring the festival concept to life in an intractable way, so even guests who may not be interested in some of the more adventurous dining options should find plenty to take their attention. Plentiful exhibits and pop-up tents feature artists and their collections, giving guests not only something to explore and look at, but something to take home as well. Add in chalk art, the Disney on Broadway Concert Series and the live Visual Art in Performance, and there is always something to watch, discover and explore while in World Showcase.

The art displays are some of the most beautiful and interesting yet, and deserves dedicated viewing time all on their own.

The Animation Academy brings hands-on drawing lessons to the America Gardens Theatre and puts focus on a classic Walt Disney World® Resort activity. Guests can also participate in painting enormous murals together, a recent, but beloved since its inception, addition to World Showcase.

The festival is one of the most fully featured Disney has ever offered, with a bounty of experiences surrounding food offerings as complex as EPCOT festivals offer.

Many of the same food options return from last year, but a few new items stand out as some of our favorites of the event, like the Angry Crab, a whole crispy soft-shell crab with green papaya salad, mango-sriracha fluid gel, and coconut-lime foam with pomegranate and mango crush pearls. Dining options at this festival are some of the most daring, complex and creative of any theme park festival anywhere.

This festival an adventurous tour around the park that foodies will find a lot to sink their teeth into, and it provides plenty of activities for those who don't come for the food.
