DINING REVIEW: Fireworks Dessert Parties

Updated: May 16

With nighttime spectaculars returning to Walt Disney World® Resort, so to are dessert parties. With premium, guaranteed views of fireworks and dessert, coffee, drinks and—in some cases—alcohol, there is value and an awesome experience to be had.

All-Inclusive

For the entry price, you get a lot of value. Each of the different parties—one for Happily Ever After at Magic Kingdom Park® and one for Epcot Forever at Epcot®—have a different selection of desserts. They are customized for the event and the parks, and are a step up from already solid desserts at a lot of other locations.

The Epcot event sees Figment-styled chocolate mousse, Soarin' macarons, cream puffs, ice cream with the freshest churros you'll ever find and Living with the Land carrot cake. Coffee, soft drinks and alcohol are included. The event is held at the Italy pavilion or, if it is raining, Akershus.

The Magic Kingdom Event is held at Tomorrowland Terrace, and features Happily Ever After chocolate-covered strawberries, cheesecake, pudding with boba balls and Cinderella Castle brownies. The party offers coffee and soft drinks, and although there was no alcohol, the unique inclusion here was the selection of Mickey ice cream bars and ice cream sandwiches.

There are a ton of options, and a lot of care has been put into the excessive theming and details into each dessert item. It adds a level of premium quality to the entire night.

The hour-long event preceding the fireworks is just as magical and worthwhile as the nighttime spectaculars themselves, and provide a perfect way to slow down and relax before the show without having to stake out a spot early.

Dessert with a View

The exclusive viewing options make for a one-of-a-kind show experience that also utilize your time well. The Italy location in Epcot puts you right across the world-famous ball, while, if you are early, the Magic Kingdom Park party gives you a fantastic view of Cinderella Castle from across the Tomorrowland Area bridge. Do note that sitting too close to the Tomorrowland Area side of the viewing location can lend to heavy reverb from both the hub and Tomorrowland music of Happily Ever After, so pick your viewing spot accordingly to get the best positioning for the show.

Worth the Price?

At $79 per adult (ages 10 and up) and $59 per child, the dessert parties have always come with a heavier price tag than many table service meals at Walt Disney World Resort. But with premium desserts and unbeatable seating, the events feel like a fair value that makes considerate use of both your time and money.

When reservations open back to the public, dessert parties should top to-do lists for anyone who places the nighttime spectaculars at the top of their Walt Disney World Resort favorites.
