The Epcot International Festival of the Arts is the newest ofEpcot®’s seasonal festivals, and is returning early in 2019 for its third year. Its scheduled to run from Jan. 18 to Feb. 25, with no extra charge to guests who will be in the park.
As the name implies, the festival celebrates the arts, namely that of music and physical art, like paintings. Like all of the other festivals, the culinary arts are one of the biggest players in the event, and the famous food studios will return around World Showcase.
The Broadway Concert Series is introducing some changes to the festival this year, as there will be daily performances on all 39 of the festival’s days, where different Disney on Broadway stars will take over the American Gardens Theatre Stage. Everything from “Lion King” to “Beauty and the Beast” to “Freaky Friday” will be represented, and guests can be treated to up to three showings every day at 5:30, 6:45, and 8 p.m. Seating is normally first-come-first-serve, but there is a dining package that gets guests priority seating at one of the showings in addition to a dining reservation at one of the park’s restaurants at any time during the day.
The fan-favorite paint-by-numbers wall is also set to make a return, where guests get a color of paint and add to a mural that all participating guests will help to create. The Festival Center is going to be loaded with workshops and complimentary 30-minute seminars, and there’ll also be a program that will let guests learn directly from a Disney artist over a continental breakfast.
The Epcot International Festival of the Arts continues to grow in just its third year, and is quickly becoming a cannot-miss event for all guests, not just those who are hardcore fans of the festival’s subject matter.
