Disney submitted its plans to reopen Walt Disney World® Resort at the Orange County Economic Task Force today.
Disney plans to reopen Magic Kingdom® Park and Disney’s Animal Kingdom® on July 11. It plans to open Epcot® and Disney’s Hollywood Studios® on July 15.
Disney intends to implement a new reservation system where guests will have to acquire entry for the theme parks in advance.
Just as when it reopened Disney Springs, Disney will require face coverings for its guests and cast members in the theme parks. There will be capacity reductions in the parks, restaurants, retail locations and attractions. Disney will implement plexiglass barriers in locations where physical distance cannot be maintained.
In an effort to reduce contact, Disney will offer more mobile ordering opportunities and will emphasize contactless payment.
In order to prevent large crowds and physical touch, Disney will temporarily suspend meet-and-greets, parades, fireworks shows and areas like playgrounds and water features.
Disney will introduced increased hand-washing and sanitation stations for guests and cast members both on-stage and off. Disney is also continuing its Social Distancing Squad as seen in Disney Springs, where it moves cast members from roles temporarily unavailable to a new team intended to help guests maintain proper safety regulations.
