Understanding Universal Orlando Resort's COVID-19 rule changes

Universal Orlando Resort recently made significant changes to its COVID-19 rules, easing mask regulations in additional to its previously outlined adjustments since the pandemic initially began.


Face Coverings

Face coverings are now optional for fully vaccinated guests. This includes indoor locations, whether that be attractions, restaurants or stores. Though Universal does not check for vaccination status, it does still require unvaccinated guests to wear masks indoors.


Sanitization

When Universal Orlando Resort reopened after the onset of COVID-19, it committed additional efforts to cleaning and sanitization, with the inclusion of team members' whose sole job was to provide additional cleaning support to the parks. Universal has stated that despite the changes in face covering regulations, it is still committed to its upgraded sanitization efforts.


Pre-Travel Awareness

Universal asks guests to check themselves for the following before traveling to their destinations, so has to help maintain as healthy an environment as possible:

  • You are not feeling sick or experiencing flu-like symptoms such as Fever and/or

    • Cough

    • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

    • Chills

    • Muscle pain

    • Sore throat

    • New loss of taste or smell

  • You have not been in contact with someone with known or suspected COVID-19 symptoms

  • You are not under any self-quarantine orders
