Much of EPCOT®'s long-running construction wrapped in December when construction walls went down around much of World Celebration and the new fireworks spectacular, Luminous, debuted.
But guests visitng the park will notice a few construction walls remain, the the work on the building in the middle of World Celebration impossible to ignore.
What is CommuniCore Hall?
The remaining construction is tending to one venue—CommuniCore Hall—announced in 2023. This 8,000 foot, climate-controlled exhibit space will help expand Disney's festival offerings, as currently, all but a couple festival dining locations are located outdoors. CommuniCore Hall will bring some options inside, so the rain won't force so much of the event to shut down. Indoors, Mickey and friends will get an all-new meet-and-greet spot.
The hall's surrounding area, CommuniCore Plaza, will feature a new covered performance/concert stage, a garden and seating.
When will it open?
Though there is no specific release date announced, Disney has labeled the CommuniCore area for a 2024 opening. Though its opening has not been confirmed to coincide with the start of an EPCOT festival, its biggest event, the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, typically starts in late July.
